Family Fitness With My Fitbit

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I was paid for this post and received the included Fitbit as compensation but all opinions are my own.

Recently, I’ve noticed that my family isn’t as active as we should be. Fitness for us is like a rollercoaster ride. At one point we’re doing really good, next thing you know we’re back at square one. So I’ve been trying my best to stay motivated and exercise a little every day because a little bit of movement a day can go a long way!

So I was happy when I got the new Fitbit Versa Ruby which is exclusive at Kohl’s! It’s a fitness smartwatch that can help motivate you to exercise and achieve your fitness goals. If you’re anything like my family and me when it comes to fitness, forever on a rollercoaster ride then you should check into getting a Fitbit. Having a Fitbit can keep you motivated on your fitness journey. You can set specific goals like reaching a number of steps, hours slept, or water intake per day. You can also join communities and see how your friends and family are doing on their fitness goals. Seeing how well others are doing on their fitness journeys can help you stay motivated and inspired to reach your own healthy lifestyle goals!

Are you and your family starting a fitness journey and don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, my main tip is to not make it harder than what it needs to be! Working out with your family can be easy and fun! I always think I have to do these long workout routines to feel like I’m being extremely active. However, being fit doesn’t happen over night, it’s a journey.

When I workout, it’s mainly playing with my daughter. She loves for us to chase her around so this is considered a fun workout for me. Playing kickball with her in our yard, going on a family walk, or just heading out to the park to play is how we exercise daily as a family. Another fun way we work out as a family is dancing along to music videos. Start doing activities like this if your family is starting a fitness journey. Other family-friendly fitness ideas are swimming, hiking, bicycling, any type of ball games, skating, martial arts/boxing, jumping rope or on a trampoline! Oh and don’t forget chores, just make them fun like who can get them done the fastest, haha! You can actually log all of these activities on the Fitbit app!

A few things that I’ve been loving about my Fitbit is that it keeps track of my steps, heartbeat, calories burned, and how many hours I slept. All of these things are great to know, even if you’re not a die-hard fitness guru. You can also track your workout, what you’ve eaten, how much water you’re drinking, and female health.

What I Like About The Fitbit Versa Ruby

  • The lightweight design: I like the ruby band and rose gold aluminum case color combination. I love the size of the watch which is comfortable to wear all throughout the day and night. It’s also very stylish.

  • Battery Life: It can last up to 4 days without charging it.

  • Bluetooth: I can sync it to my phone, which allows me to play music wirelessly and watch on-screen coaching.

  • Water Resistant: It’s water resistant up to 50 meters. So I can take a shower or even swim with it on.

  • Notifications: It can send personalized reminders so I can meet my fitness goals. I also like that it has smartphone notifications, so when I get a text message I can send a quick reply back.

  • User-Friendly: The dashboard is very simple to use so you can keep up with your health and fitness data.

  • Female Health: I can keep track of my menstrual cycle and see predictions of when I will ovulate. Which I already regularly track but it’s nice to record everything in one app.

  • Accessorizing: Even though I love the ruby band, it’s nice to know that I can always switch it out if I ever want to change the style to match my clothing attire, mood, or a special event.

Those are the top features that I love about my Fitbit Versa Ruby. The only downside about it is that it does not have a built-in GPS, it connects with GPS through your phone so you have to have your phone with you if you want to track your workouts via GPS. Personally, this doesn’t bother me because I always have my phone with me. However, the Fitbit Ionic has built-in GPS, you can get the Fitbit Ionic on sale at Kohl’s for $249.99 (Reg. $299.99) from (10/14 – 10/26).

Don’t like the size or style of the Fitbit Versa? Check out the new soon to be released, Fitbit Charge 3, which is a fitness tracker that acts like a smartwatch. The only differences are the size/style, it doesn’t play music and it does not have on-screen coaching like the Versa or Ionic but it can last up to 7 days without charging it. You can get the Versa Ruby for $199.99 and Charge 3 for $149.99, as well as the Fitbit Ace(kid’s 8+) for $79.99 at Kohl’s! You can also earn Kohl's Cash through 10/11 - 10/17 and redeem 10/18 - 10/28 or earn through 10/18 - 10/21 and redeem 10/22 - 10/28. Thanks for reading and ta-ta for now!!
